Veolia Ireland is looking for a Junior Commercial Contract Engineer

Job Description

This role will give exposure to the negotiation and management of contracts across the Veolia Ireland Business portfolio. Support the Commercial Contract Manager in managing contract preparation and execution control. Deliver all of the commercial management processes required to ensure that the business realises the maximum sustainable value for all of our contracts and projects with the support of the CCM.

Description of the responsibilities:

• Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
• Assisting in delivering the Veolia Ireland commercial strategy
• Work with the Project Teams to ensure they are adhering to all Contractual requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
• Linking in with the Construction Team’s Monthly applications are all inclusive of accurate measures, site changes, dayworks and any applicable contract claims. Identify escalations, material or labour variations, etc. as appropriate
• Exposure to the process of estimating, pricing and quantity surveying on all major projects and assisting the project team on smaller projects.
• Working with the Business Development team developing bids and responding to tenders.
• Evaluate contractor performance after project completion
• Work with the Commercial Contract Manager to Identify claims, give timely notice and support in defending against claims for accelerations, disruption or losses
• Strong written communication abilities, and the ability to negotiate a strong commercial position for the company are also essential

Qualifications

• Educational background: Qualification in Quantity Surveying/Mechanical, Engineering/Building Services Engineering
• Skills: Strong IT Skills, Communication Skills, Strong Attention to Detail
• Languages: English
