Job description
Meta is seeking a Visiting Research Engineer to join one of our Research & Development teams. The ideal candidate will have industry experience working on Audio & Language modeling related topics. The position will involve taking these skills and applying them to solve for some of the most crucial & exciting problems that exist on the web. We are hiring in multiple locations. Term length would be considered on a case-by-case basis.


Visiting Research Engineer, CoreML Responsibilities:

  • Contribute research that can be applied to Meta’s product development
  • Apply relevant AI and machine learning techniques to build intelligent rich systems that improve Meta's products and experiences and support audio and music modeling
  • Develop novel, accurate AI algorithms and advanced systems for audio and musical applications
  • Identify, motivate, and execute on reasonable medium to large hypotheses for model improvements through data analysis and domain knowledge
  • Understand common audio systems considerations and modeling issues, and factor this into improved modeling choices
  • Define use cases and develop methodology and benchmarks to evaluate different approaches to musical and audio quality



Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience developing tools for music understanding with application to generative music
  • Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Music Information Retrieval frameworks such as Librosa, Essentia, YAAFE, MIR Toolbox, or Music21
  • Strong understanding of Music Theory and Digital Signal Processing of Music
  • Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Music, or related fields
