Waste Management Operator

Location: Floating Role (Barnahely, Ringaskiddy and Little Island)

Duration: Permanent

Overview of the Role:

The Waste Management Operator will be responsible for providing support and absence cover to the on-site teams, operational implementation of Total Waste Management contract and associated activities at three of our clients sites.

Day to Day of the Role:

• Provision of absence cover (annual and sick leave) to the on-site teams including Technical Services Representatives, Site Supervisors and Operatives
• Dangerous Goods Waste management. DG/ADR/IMDG compliance
• Bulk Tanker Waste management. DG/ADR/IMDG compliance
• Chempack management. Lab small segregation and packing to comply with DG/ADR/IMDG
• Provision of additional support to implement improvement projects. E.g. Waste Stream classification. Sustainability Targets support.
• Working in a team with TSRs, supervisors and operatives on client’s site to provide waste management services as per client’s outlined requirements
• Movement, packing or compacting of hazardous and non hazardous waste items to on site satellite locations
• Monitor and provide help to the site supervisor in managing waste movements on site
• Help in loading/offloading trailers and ensure all relevant paperwork is in place
• Management and housekeeping of waste compound and waste equipment (compactors, balers, packaging, lifting equipment)
• Comply with Health & Safety, Quality, Dangerous Goods and other relevant regulations.
• Monitor consumables stock levels and make orders as required.

Skills & Qualifications Required for the role;

• Forklift Licence, Safe Pass, Manual Handling
• Waste Management experience
• Chemical and Dangerous Goods Awareness
• Strong communication skills
• Strong knowledge of IT software (email, Google drive and documents)
• Flexibility, Punctuality, H&S Compliance (Essential)
• DG & Chemicals Management. Forklift Driving, Computer Literate. (Essential)
• Experience in Waste Management and Recycling. Bulk Tanker waste management (Desirable)
• Environmental and sustainability awareness. Innovation
• Team player. Good Communicator
• Excellent Customer service skills
