We're Bulldog Creative and we're looking for a web developer interested in joining a creative, productive, and progressive team here at our headquarters in Huntington, WV. We will consider either full or part time for this position. We're looking for someone that:
- Is able to commute to or perform job responsibilities in Huntington, West Virginia. This is not a remote position.
- Has demonstrated proficiency in markup and programming languages (HTML, CSS, PHP, JAVASCRIPT, etc).
- Building and optimizing a secure web page for evolving business needs.
- Must maintain communication with team members concerning the direction of a client website or application.
- Must provide continued support for one or more websites/applications involving added features or maintenance.
- Must be a good problem solver. Use good keyword practices when researching an issue.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to handle small, tedious tasks while also working on larger-scale projects to meet client deadlines.
- Assist and collaborate with other members of your team.
Here are some extra items that would help you succeed in this role.
- Being familiar with responsive web design
- Having experience writing PHP
- Understanding of relational databases
- Having experience with Linux and/or BSD
- Some creativity and design capabilities are a plus!
Qualifications:
- Must be able to take a provided mockup design and create a custom website
- Experience adapting websites/web applications to scale and adapt to most modern desktop and mobile devices
- Experience with using secure web practices such as applying SSL certifications to websites
- 1 + year experience with using HTML, CSS, Javascript to create websites.
- 1 + years creating custom themes using WordPress, or installing premade themes.
- 1 + years experience with Git, pushing/deploying changes/updates to local repositories.
- 1 + years experience with Laravel web applications. Able to create web applications, work with existing projects by updating, making dynamic content able to be edited by a client.
- Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) practices
- Comfortable using the command line terminal
- Experience in ExpressionEngine CMS is a plus
We prefer someone with at least an associate's degree in the field of web development but require at least a high school diploma. Please be sure to send a link to your work samples/portfolio with your resume.
