To: All Teaching and Administrative PersonnelBrockton Public SchoolsFrom: Dr. Kathleen MoranAssistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSubject: WIDA 2020 Microcredential Trainer of Trainers (25 Spaces Available)Location: BPS Professional Development Center - 661 Centre Street To support the integration of the Massachusetts English Language Development Standards (WIDA 2020) in all content areas, the district is offering a Training of Trainers on the WIDA 2020 Microcredential. There will be a combination of self-directed. asynchronous learning of the WIDA 2020 Microcredential, along with facilitated meetings and coaching on the implementation of the Microcredential in multiple settings, formats, grade levels, and content areas.

Course OverviewJune 30-August 15, 2023: Asynchronous/Independent Learning to be completed with micro-credential submissions for first two skills/scaffolds. Friday August 18, 2023, from 9:00AM- 1:00 PM: Face-to-Face Coached PLC Session 1.Friday August 18 beginning at 1:00 PM: Asynchronous/Independent Learning.Sunday August 20 at 12:00 noon: Submission of Micro-skill 3 work.Monday August 21, 2023, from 9:00AM- 1:00 PM: Face-to-Face Coached PLC Session 2.Monday August 21, 2023, beginning at 1:00 PM: Asynchronous/Independent Learning. Tuesday August 22 at 5:00 PM: Submission of Micro-skill 4+ 5 work. Wednesday August 23, 2023, from 9:00AM- 1:00 PM: Face-to-Face Coached PLC Session 3.Wednesday August 23.

2023 at 1:30 PM: Independent /Individual Final Assessment Part 1 in person.Friday August 25. 2023: Asynchronous/Independent/Individual Final Assessment Part 2 Micro-credential evaluation of final assessments for micro-credential badge.QUALIFICATIONS: 1.Priority given to those who directly support teachers implementing curriculum with multilingual learners - instructional coaches (English language acquisition, STEM, Literacy), Associate Principals, Department Heads, Coordinators, etc.2.Educator of Administrator license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education 3.Strong organizational skills and communication skills4.Experience working with educators in professional learning communities5.Must commit to all aspects of the program both asynchronous/independent work and facilitated sessions.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Complete all work and satisfy requirements to obtain the WIDA 2020 Microcredential (15 hours)2.Attend and participate in the facilitated coaching sessions (12 hours) 3.Provide feedback about the Microcredential to the facilitators4.Roll out the Microcredential at least once during the 2023-2024 school yearCOMPENSATION: $450 stipend (Pending on grant funding)
