Position Summary
Manage a book of business of various employee benefit plans such as health, dental, and ancillary insurances. Responsible for presenting renewals and day-to-day benefits needs of the client/employee. Act as liaison between client/employee and vendors. Responsible for the administration of Tandem HR sponsored Master Plans. This is a mostly remote role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain relationships with clients.
- Negotiate renewals on behalf of clients.
- Conduct onsite and virtual client visits.
- Market new and current clients for insurance proposals.
- Compile information; prepare spreadsheets and proposals for prospective and current clients for sales/service representatives.
- Conduct annual client renewals – virtually and on-site.
- Process changes and terminations at employee, client and carrier levels.
- Enroll new employees in benefits plans and provide employee orientations.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment process and conduct education meetings with employees.
- Assist clients/employees with claim and billing issues and other benefits related questions or concerns.
- Maintain knowledge of legislative updates and industry information, and update clients on ever-changing industry information.
- Work with teammates to perform day-to-day benefit administrative tasks.
- Responsible for the administration of Tandem sponsored Master Plans.
- Assist sales department with quote requests.
- Other benefits related duties/projects as assigned.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required, or minimum of two (2) years of work experience in a related field.
- An active Life and Health Insurance License in your residence state.
- Strong communication (written and verbal), customer service, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective public speaker related to group presentations.
- Great attention to detail and thoroughness in completing work tasks.
- Ability to deal professionally, calmly, and effectively with high stress situations.
- Skilled in math applications and formulas.
- Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- A desire to have FUN!
