The Account Executive is responsible for generating profitable revenue growth in the roll-off solid waste business line by utilizing a consultative sales approach. This position sells solid waste transportation and disposal to a broad mix of customer segments including industrial, construction, healthcare, and commercial customers. The account executive generates revenue through lead generation, upselling in an existing book of business, and by developing relationships with key decision makers and stakeholders of prospects and clients. A successful account executive gathers complex data, disseminates information internally and/or with vendors, formulates a logistics plan for managing waste, and completes necessary documents such as waste profiles, credit applications, and proposals. The account executive works closely with operations and the Vice President of Sales & Marketing to develop a business development plan, monitors competitors and industry trends, and optimizes customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provides sales, marketing and customer service to prospective clients and existing customers
- Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets/goals
- Generates leads through referrals, cold calling, and other business development activities
- Upsells and service clients in assigned book of business
- Prepares proposals and execute service agreements.
- Documents activities in CRM system/sales reports
- Establishes and maintains effective communication and coordination with customers
- Intimate knowledge of the customer?s needs
- Empathy for the customer?s situation
- Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal
- Articulate in a way the customer can understand
- Builds a long-term relationship with the customer
- Troubleshoots problems regarding services provided
- Captures accurate and complete information in our Customer Relationship Management System (CRM)
- Attends and participates in sales group meetings concerning sales targets or forecasts
- Attends industry conferences to develop industry expertise and to build network
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
