I. Summary
Reports to: Director of Ticketing and Patron Services
Status: Part Time, Non Exempt
Position Overview: The Account Specialist works to develop and sustain personal relationships with customers to cultivate subscription renewals and acquisitions, all the while, bringing customers closer to the mission of the institution on a personal level and making them feel special and important to our work as a nonprofit cultural pillar of Nashville.
II. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Work with the Director of Ticketing, Vice President of Marketing and their respective teams to maximize customer relationships, build excitement around our orchestra and concert offerings, sell series and CYO subscriptions as well as group and single tickets
2. Work with assigned customer leads via phone and email to build, maintain and grow customer relationships, and sell packages and manage customers’ needs
3. Utilizes scripts and selling techniques to maximize efforts.
4. Attend weekly sales meetings for Account Specialists
5. Meet weekly, monthly and year-to-date goals
6. Submit daily sales reports
7. Ensure the accuracy of order processing, data entry and promotional offers
8. Follow customer service and ticketing policy to achieve consistency in process and messaging across the Account Management, Ticketing and Development teams.
9. Keep up-to-date on Nashville Symphony concert offerings, subscription packages; sales procedures, marketing efforts and mission related/community activities
10. Participate periodically in night of concerts shifts to
The duties listed above are not all inclusive. The person in this position is expected to perform other work-related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.
III. Work Requirements and Qualifications
1. Education
High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education or experience preferred
2. Experience
At least one year of phone room, direct sales or customer service experience required.
Background in performing arts and knowledge of symphonic music preferred but not required.
3. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be highly motivated, with the ability to drive for results.
Must have a positive attitude, a pleasant voice for outbound phone calls as well as promptness in answering inbound calls. Must be comfortable with speaking on the telephone for long periods of time.
Must be comfortable working on a commission-base pay scale
Must be well-organized and possess keen attention to detail; must be creative and flexible while maintaining work flow.
Must demonstrate strong analytical skills and must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Punctuality, dependability, strong work ethic and good judgment are essential.
Ability to handle confidential information with appreciation for the importance of privacy protection of donors and prospects is vital.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required, expertise with Microsoft Excel strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Tessitura CRM software preferred.
4. Physical Requirements
Must be able to work at a computer and sit for extended stretches of time. This position may periodically involve the lifting and moving of boxes and other equipment.
