Job Description
The Employee Activities Coordinator is responsible for creating, communicating, organizing, and running events and activities for staff.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a calendar of events for staff, determine frequency of activities and plan and offer a consistent variety throughout the entire season.
- Recommend, cost, acquire and maintain approved equipment and supplies for events and activities while staying within budget.
- Organize trips to town related to shopping, cultural events and employee interests, and to other National Parks, State Parks, National Monuments and places of interest.
- Coordinate and plan events with the Employee Dining Staff in order to ensure appropriate food and beverage as required.
- Coordinate travel (especially trips to town) with appropriate HR and Transportation staff.
- Remain informed of National Park Programs and events, ensure the same are offered to employees and coordinate events with the National Park Service as assigned and required.
- Organize events, activities, forums, etc. that help integrate international students into the National Park employee environment and events that share international cultures with the employee population as a whole.
- Communicate with staff at all levels in a positive guest service and enthusiastic manner that encourages participation in events and positive employee relations with management.
- Remain informed and research new trends in the field of employee events and activities and recommend events accordingly.
- As a member of the Human Resource team, participate with and assist with HR and Dorm related tasks as assigned.
- Remain knowledgeable of company and National Park emergency procedures, environmental, health and safety standards and follow the same in all situations.
- Knows and follows all company, Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Programs and policies.
- Works extra shifts and hours as required.
- Assists in other departments as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Excellent verbal written and communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly adapt to change.
- Good computer skills including familiarity with MS Office.
- Self-motivation skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to deal calmly and effectively in stressful or emergency situations.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, play an integral role in the HR team and the ability to multi-task.
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
