Hayes Day School, based in Millbrook, NY, is a state-of-the-art facility serving 60 children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are seeking an
Adapted Physical Education Teacher for our
summer session (July 10 – August 18) to organize and implement an instructional program that meets the individual needs of the students.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
- Current NYS Certified Physical Education Teacher, preferably in Adapted Physical Education or experience with students with disabilities
- Previous experience teaching individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is strongly desired
- Basic computer skills to access email and IEPDirect
- Design an Adaptive PE program consistent with the transdisciplinary philosophy of the school
- Develop APE activities that meet the diverse needs of all students
- Develop appropriate APE goals and objectives for each student’s IEP
- Assist within specific classrooms as needed
- Additional duties as assigned
