The California State University, Dominguez Hills Toro Auxiliary Partners was incorporated in 1968 as a partner of the University to provide services and develop and enhance programs that are an integral part of the University's educational mission. CSU Dominguez Hills is a highly diverse, metropolitan university primarily serving the South Bay area of Los Angeles County. Established in 1960, CSU Dominguez Hills is one of the 23 campuses that comprise the California State University system.

About the Position
Administrative assistance for CALSWEC grant and DCFS stipend programs. Manages documentation regarding grants to support student and faculty compliance, maintenance of grant expectations and reports to funding sources. Provides back up for Administrative Coordinator regarding department needs. Maintain contact and ensure timely documentation in collaboration with foundation staff.

Position Information
Employment at Toro Auxiliary Partners is on an at-will basis and can be terminated by either an employee or Toro Auxiliary Partners at any time with or without cause or advance notice. Permanent status can neither be obtained nor granted.

This is a Full-time, non-exempt, benefited position employer-sponsored health, dental vision, life insurance, retirement program and vacation pay.

Rate of Pay: $25.50 hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide students with contract information and documentation
  • Set up payments for stipend students and collaborate with foundation staff
  • Ensure student information is entered in system for quarterly reports
  • Add field placement information for first year students
  • Update field placements for second year students
  • Maintain contact with Department Chair and DH Financial Analyst
  • Complete documentation, arrange travel and hotel accommodations and ensure reimbursement for CALSWEC, DCFS and PI faculty and students
  • Prepare and disseminate quarterly reports
  • Support preparation for CalSWEC student job fair
  • Manage student stipend repayments for current and graduated students
Qualifications/Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate degree to Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in Office Environment equivalent to 2 years
  • General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices
  • Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling'
  • Ability to use standard office equipment
  • Ability to use standard word processing and related computer software packages
  • Ability to identify and solve standard problems and refer more complex problems to appropriate stall
  • Ability to respond to routine inquiries and explain standard policies and procedures to others
  • Ability to learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures.
  • Ability to identify deviations from applicable policies
  • Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough and, at times, creative solutions
  • Ability to perform standard arithmetic functions of a transactional nature, including tracking and comparing data
  • Fundamental writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate standard information
  • Work often involves front line contacts with a variety of campus and community individuals requiring active problem solving and effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated competence in effectively presenting standard information in writing
  • Demonstrated competence in understanding, interpreting, and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instructions
