JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Full Time
  • Non-Exempt, Hourly
  • Monday - Friday, Weekend hours may occasionally be required per department needs. Any weekend hours worked paid at differential rate.
  • Location: Portsmouth HQ Office

JOB SUMMARY:

The Hospice & Palliative Care Patient Services Administrative Assistant is responsible for the orderly scheduling of the Hospice & Palliative Care patient visit and staff scheduling. They receive and triage telephone calls related to Hospice & Palliative Care patient care scheduling and other department-related issues. Notifies staff and appropriate managers of changes to patient scheduling. Submits required reports to Hospice Managers for review. The Hospice & Palliative Care Patient Services Administrative Assistant is knowledgeable in all phases of Agency Hospice & Palliative Care policy and services. The Patient Services Administrative Assistant reports to the Hospice Managers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience in medical office practice or similar setting essential; excellent public relations skills required.

2. Scheduling & Hospice Care experienced preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Demonstrated ability in office procedures including computer skills.

2. Sound organizational skills. Ability to coordinate and manage multiple activities simultaneously.

3. Ability to handle telephone communication in a manner that preserves good public relations.

4. Dependable. Capable of using initiative and good judgment.

PHYSICAL EFFORTS AND SKILLS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
