***Salary Grade Equivalent: NC02 *** Recruitment Range: $31,200.00 - $46,734.00
Position located in the New Hanover County Maintenance Unit. Employee in this position will provide office support assistance to multiple Maintenance Staff. Duties will include: typing forms, correspondence, computer data entry, filing, create and maintain miscellaneous reports in Excel and assist public with inquiries/problems by telephone and personal office contact. Data entry and transfer of weekly payroll utilizing SAP/BEACON operating systems. Process monthly reports in SAP/Excel and other general office duties as required.

- Customer service experience, including resolving customer issues
- Experience with Microsoft Office using programs such as Access, Word, and Excel
- Experience completing and/or maintaining records and reports
- Experience interpreting and explaining policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
- Experience with letter writing, using correct spelling, punctuation and proofreading
Additional Expectations
Must possess a general knowledge of office procedures and record keeping. Must be able to use a Windows-based computer with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. A basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures is helpful. Candidate should communicate with proper grammar, punctuations, and correct spelling. Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, government officials and contractors/vendors. Candidate should possess the skills to maintain and manage multiple projects. Must be available to work after hours during emergency situations such as hurricanes, tropical storms, snow & ice events, tornadoes, etc. Operate State vehicle. A valid NC Driver’s License is preferred. ***Applicants with SAP R/3, CARS, and TIMS experience will be given preference.***
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
