Federal Data Systems is looking for a Microsoft SQL Developer. The Developer will work in an environment supporting multiple applications that rely upon Microsoft SQL Server as their backend database. Looking for an initiative-taking individual that wants to learn new skills as well as contribute to the growth and maturity of the processes used to support and maintain databases by a small, talented, and hardworking database administration team.

Essential Job Functions

· Windows Security Update Patching.

· Security team task mitigation.

· Daily Windows Log, SQL Server Log, and SQL Server Service Reviews.

· Database Backup, Backup Verification, and Restore.

· SQL Server Process Documentation.

· Troubleshooting Reported Service Support Issues.

Minimum Required Qualifications

· Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.

· Intermediate level of understanding of MS SQL Server and the following MS SQL Server features and/or tasks:

- SQL Server AlwaysOn

- SQL Server Database Backup and Restore

- SQL Server Failover Cluster

- SQL Server full text index management

- SQL Server Agent Job Creation and Management

- Junior to intermediate level of understanding of MS Windows Server

· DBA2 - Ten (10) years’ experience as a DBA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional DBA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

· SME2 - A Master’s Degree in a Technical, Computer or Math related field with five (5) years’ experience in the following: Domain Name Server (DNS), Network Time Protocol (NTP) and IP routing protocols. A Bachelor’s Degree with seven (7) years’ experience; an Associate’s degree with ten (10) years of experience may be substituted for the Master’s Degree. No degree with 10 years of experience implementing information technology solutions is acceptable. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, traffic management and cloud computing experience are desired.

· Comptia Security+ Certification.

· Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI with Poly.

Desired/Preferred Skills

· Windows Failover Cluster and Windows Cluster.

· Windows Event Log Filtering.

· Windows Task Scheduler Setup and Management.

· Powershell.

· Commvault backup solutions.

· SharePoint.

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
