Adult Outpatient PMHNP at Leading Behavioral Health Facility in New England

Northern Light Acadia Hospital in Bangor, Maine is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our Adult Medication Management program.

The PMHNP is an independently licensed clinician who is responsible for the research-based knowledge, skills, and experience to assess, diagnose, treat, and provide psychiatric care for clients with psychiatric and substance use treatment needs.

Position Details:

• Provide mental health treatment using psychotherapy, medication management, and other interventions
• Consult with other healthcare providers
• Provide direct patient care
• Function as a clinical leader, resource, and preceptor for other staff
• Serve as an integral part of program development, guide group decision-making, implement plans, and improve quality of care
• Inpatient and hospital rounding call opportunities for additional compensation in adult and pediatrics
• Maintain ability to prescribe suboxone (X number -preferable or willing to obtain)
• Monday-Friday schedule
• Supervision provided by a designated psychiatrist

Our Adult Outpatient Program is a major regional teaching and clinical resource. We have a large interdisciplinary team that provides adult medication management, psychotherapy, tele-psychiatry, an intensive outpatient program, opioid health home, a methadone program, geriatric neuropsychiatry with northern New England’s largest research initiative, and neuromodulation. Current partnerships are with Massachusetts General Hospital, Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, and the University of Maine.
