Job Summary

The Analyst Data & Decision Science is responsible for working collaboratively with internal business intelligence teams and business units in need of analytical decision-making support. Responsible for establishing the process of harmonized and contextualized data management, perform statistical analysis, process data trending, process data analytics, process data modeling and build dashboards. Contributes to the creation of requirements and functional design of analytic needs of internal business units to assist in the identification of business problems and existing processes in the form of self-service reporting, trend analytics and industry approaches for visual analytics to increase in sales, profit and market share and contribute to the achievement of business unit program goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business intelligence teams and business units in need of analytic support
  • Schedule and conduct meetings to determine functional and design requirements of analytics
  • Develop functional specifications and user interface opportunities with costs and return on investment summarized
  • Determine the appropriate data source needed for the analytics requested
  • Analyze data by using statistical models and provide the results in the form of self-servicing reporting and summarized outcomes to effectively recommend program and operational procedure changes/enhancements
  • Use industry standard analytical approaches and BI tools to transform data into actionable business insights
  • Collaborate closely with business partners to provide analytical decision-making support
  • Develop and foster working relationships with internal and external business partners to facilitate productive exchange of information
  • Remain informed on current data and analytic trends
  • Other responsibilities as judgment or necessity dictate

Occasionally (0-33% of time OR 1-3 hours) required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science or related area of study or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience

3 years’ work experience in program analytics and solution detailing

Additional Qualifications

Experience in diagnosing, isolating and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve identified issues

Proven ability to create and maintain dashboards/reports intended to summarize data for multiple audiences

Electronic Health Record (EHR), Pharma, Payor and/or provider data experience

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to collaborate within and across teams and deliver high quality results

Experience in data management and governance

Experience building, reviewing and creating functional data sources

Demonstrated ability to accomplish goals with little to no supervision, self-driven to complete objectives and identify escalation paths of issues when necessary

Ability to translate recommendations into materials to effectively present to various levels of management

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced skills in Excel and additional BI tools such as Tableau

Strong project management, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in statistical programming languages (R, Python, SQL)

Experience in relational databases such as Teradata or Oracle and large data platforms

Experience in data extraction, cleansing, validating, and curating
