• You'll be a critical member of the Corporate Procurement team, called upon to provide actionable insights from data, synthesize complex analyses into stories that lead to recommendations and action

What you'll do

• Support the strategic direction of Corporate Procurement through reporting, analysis, and planning functions
• Help continuously improve reporting - pulling from Cognos, Coupa and other systems to provide the data needed to optimize sourcing & purchasing decisions and identify additional opportunity areas
• Provide analysis on spend by vendor, location, and commodity supporting negotiations and category strategies
• Support department Commodity Managers in award decisions, negotiations, and presentations
• Synthesize, analyze, and curate information to provide data-driven actionable insights and recommendations for the department and officer level
• Work cross-functionally and across departments to develop measurement and reporting capabilities we don't have today
• Identify opportunities for process improvement driving efficiency and/or value for Corporate Procurement and ultimately American Airlines

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Procurement Functions, Economics, or other related field
• 3 years experience in finance, accounting, or procurement functions or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Proven analytical skills with a demonstrated aptitude for understanding the business, working with data, developing detailed logical analysis, and solving problems creatively
• Proficient in data extraction, manipulation, visualization, and analysis using Cognos, Excel, Power BI, or other similar technologies
• Experience with data extraction tools and methods (e.g., SQL) and data visualization
• Advanced experience with Excel modeling and PowerPoint presentation development
• Master's degree Leadership experience Project management experience
• Knowledge in procurement and airport operations
• Cross-functional and cross-departmental experience
