ROLE DEFINITION

As an Analytical Technologist you will support the AEM business by implementing analytical equipment and methodologies in support of plant operations and product releases. In this role you will conduct routine analysis of raw and finished materials via a variety of tests, create lab procedures, train other lab members, as well as maintain and calibrate testing equipment. This role generally works day shifts Monday through Friday with some variation according to business needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION

Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:

• Conduct routine analyses, calibration, and maintenance in accordance with applicable operating discipline in support of plant operations, including the following:
  • Raw material and finished product testing
  • Karl Fischer Tests
  • FT-IR Analysis
  • HPLC analysis and preparation
  • Voltammetry Test
  • Stabinger Viscosity Test
  • UV/Vivs an dvisual color tests
  • Gas Chromatography analysis
• Write laboratory procedures and train other lab members on la techniques and processes
• Follow ISO 9000 and other relevant quality systems

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required; an Associate’s or BS in Chemistry or related field is highly preferred
• 2+ years in an industrial laboratory or similar environment is required
• Basic understanding of statistics is required
• ISO 9001 knowledge and experience is preferred
• A successful candidate must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
  • Able to climb stairs anywhere from 9-30 flights per shift (bldg has 2 floors)
  • Able to lift 50 lbs (spends up to ~1 hour per shift doing this)
  • Able to bend, kneel and work in various body positions to safely complete daily work tasks (e.g. sampling, equipment preps, maintenance, etc.)
  • Able to wear impervious protective clothing for ~1-6 hours per day
