Reports to: Child Advocacy Center Clinical Services Program Manager
Status: Exempt
Summary
Provide individual and group trauma focused therapy to youth that have been impacted by sex and labor trafficking that are referred to the Child Advocacy Center/Multidisciplinary Team. Provide clinical services to non-offending caregivers of youth who have experienced trafficking/sexual violence. Provide clinical support and guidance to all direct service staff. Represent CFJ clinical services on the Greater Bridgeport Multidisciplinary Team.
Responsibilities
- Administer clinical assessments to children referred to the CAC/MDT and make referrals based on results.
- Provide therapy to children and their non-offending parent/guardian.
- Engage parents, obtain consent and provide indicated type and level of support services, including outreach to meet with parents.
- Provide case management to youth who have been trafficked (or collaborate with case managers/advocates to ensure that all needs are being met).
- Maintain accurate case files and enter data into client databases in a timely manner.
- Review client services and statistics to ensure adherence to funding/contract requirements.
- Enhance clinical services through further program development.
- Supervise Master’s level interns.
- Ensure CFJ clinical services meet the National Children’s Alliance standards for reaccreditation.
- Assist the Director in developing, implementing and monitoring long-term goals and objectives to achieve the successful outcome of the programs.
- Attend MDT case review and to provide information about clients seen as well as overall expertise in mental health.
Qualifications
- Bilingual Spanish/English.
- Master’s degree from an accredited college in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field. Licensure as a mental health practitioner in the State of Connecticut as required. Knowledge of trauma informed treatment and techniques.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and research in the mental health field and willingness to participate in data collection, storage, and analyzing of same for program effectiveness.
- Knowledge of child development, domestic and sexual violence.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to establish rapport and trust.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Strong commitment to The Center’s mission.
Preferred
- Prior experience working in a Child Advocacy Center.
- Prior experience working in or partnering with a sexual assault/domestic violence/anti-trafficking crisis agency.
- Prior experience working with survivors of trafficking.
- Training in an evidence-based trauma focused therapy modality.
- Experience working with complex trauma.
