We are looking for candidates who have a good understanding of embedded software in control system applications where system timing and performance are crucial. Candidate must have the ability to work well with team members to develop, review and implement complex software applications. This position requires an individual who is results driven, highly motivated, quality focused, and has the ability to work within a high performing team. The primary focus of this position is to design, develop and deliver workable software functions that meet the needs of our customers. The Product’s technology includes AUTOSAR, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Over-the-Air Programming, Cyber Security, Advanced Control Algorithms, and much more.
This position is located in Saginaw, MI. For the right candidate, we offer a generous relocation package.
Job Description:
- Responsible for features that range across multiple engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical hardware, software, and controls for an Electronic Power Steering System
- Support software function development specific to customer requirements
- Create and release component specifications for software functions with strong focus on the system impact and software design
- Design and implement world class embedded software for an Electronic Power Steering System using C
- Develop documentation to comply with automotive SPICE
- Participate in and lead design reviews
- Utilize problem solving strategies to investigate complex hardware / software design challenges
- Engage with a wide range of verification teams from system hardware in the loop (HiL) to software processor in the loop (PiL) testing to establish performance criteria
- Perform vehicle, system, software, and/or module level evaluations on new features and software functions
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of embedded software development experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills
Preferred:
- Experience with software coding using C language
- Experience in performing engineering calculations using MATLAB/Simulink and spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)
- Model based design experience using Simulink
- Software Architecture and Design experience
- Experience with 8-bit, 16-bit or 32-bit microcontrollers
- Experience with debugging and problem resolution
- Familiarity with cross compilers and cross assemblers
- Familiarity with software development techniques and methodologies
- Familiarity with Vector based analysis and development tools
- Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and tools (CAN, LIN, Flexray)
- Familiarity with formal requirements management tools (i.e., DOORS)
- Familiarity with MISRA standards and verification tools
- Familiar with AUTOSAR, ISO26262
- Proficient with Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Visio)

Bachelor - Electrical & Electronics Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science (Required)
