Top Oil is recruiting for an Applications Support for our Head Office in Dublin.

What you can expect in a typical day:
The Irish Sales and Marketing business (Top Oil) is on a journey to become the industry leader. Our view is that the Applications support role is an essential part of customer service especially in our business with a digital presence. Customer service has a lot of impact on our reputation. This role will offer technical support and human support to the company. Technical support relates to the maintenance of apps, software and other inhouse technological systems. Human support relates to helping the end-user understand how to use the application or system and help solve any issues that arise.
Reporting directly to – Group ICT Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Main Duties/ Responsibilities:
· Primary point of contact for any business applications issues that arise, investigate / identify root cause, made recommendations and ensure issues are resolved.
· Liaise with other member of the IT team to handle support tickets in our helpdesk system.
· Point of contact for any system enhancements request from the business, evaluate, estimate and bring recommendation to manager for approval. The assessment of an application support analyst is important to help the management make an informed decision.
· Define in detail any application change requests for 3rd party companies to develop, test and sign off changes prior to bringing into ‘live’ environments.
· Responsible for all business interfaces jobs / tasks that run between our different systems / solutions.
· Liaise with Irving Oil IT Canada on interfacing existing solutions in Ireland and Canada.
· Previous experience of working with different interfaces files formats, XML, csv, txt.
· Analyze and communicate with 3rd parties to address issues logged.
What you’ll need to succeed:
· Knowledge and experience of the following technologies: Cloud and Virtualization Platforms - VMWare, MS Tenancy, AD and Networking (LAN, WAN & SDWAN) Critical applications - Citrix Workspace suite, ERP systems, MS Office application suite, centralised IP telephony (Shoretel / Mitel)
· Understand Structured Query Language (SQL)
· Up-to-date application software coding and script in knowledge
· Ability to diagnose and solve application issues
· Understand telecommunication systems
· Knowledge of standard IT hardware and equipment
· Ability to learn and understand IT management software
· Previous experience of dealing with external 3rd party suppliers for a support / development perspective.
· Strong capability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
· Previous project management experience

- Strong judgement and ability to identify critical situations and respond accordingly
- Ability to work on your initiative, solution and goal orientated
- Problem solving skills are essential
- Work well under pressure
Education and experience
· A degree in business administration, information systems, computing studies, IT or any other related fields.
· Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, Java and .Net Languages
· Interpersonal skills
· Previous experience of at least 3 years as an application support analyst or a similar role/industry
· Understand IT management software
· Professional certifications through Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, IBM or any other major IT certification
