Opportunity
Facilities Resource Group is looking for experienced commercial plumbers to travel and learn innovative skills in tankless water heating solutions. Supported by a professional team, FRG offers opportunities for growth and advancement in the commercial plumbing field.

This position is based near Grand Rapids, Michigan and calls for regular ground travel (up to 75%) throughout the United States. Plumbing Apprentices may work 15-25 hours of overtime per week when traveling. Additional paid time off is earned during extended travel. All travel expenses are paid by the company and a generous per diem is allocated for food during travel. Apprentices work in-house production when not on the road.

Role and Responsibilities

• Transport equipment from Comstock Park, MI to installation site.
• Assist senior plumber(s) in installation and repair of tankless water heating systems.
• Determine and use appropriate equipment, tools, and materials to install systems or fix issues, leaks, and malfunctioning systems.
• Cut copper or PVC pipe, identify plumbing fittings, use ProPress, gather materials for senior plumber(s).
• Help identify and locate leaks and make necessary repairs.
• Assist in building our unique tankless water heater rack systems in-house when not traveling.
• Be proactive with “what comes next” when encountering similar jobs.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old
• 2 years commercial plumbing experience preferred.
• Travel nationwide, work off-shift hours and overtime.
• MI Chauffer's driver license with DOT Med card is required as well as a clean driving record. (FRG will help get the license and med card if necessary.)
• Ability to drive pickup trucks and safely maneuver 25-foot trailers.
• Good mechanical aptitude. Ability to use various tools to assemble and/or repair plumbing systems.
• Attention to detail in all aspects of the job.
• Inventory & electronic documentation.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings including background check and drug test.

• Excellent work ethic and reliability.
• Own your own hand tools.
• Computer literacy with electronic documentation. Should be very familiar with the use of smart phones, text messaging, and email.
• Ability to handle pressure and demonstrate a “can do” attitude.
