ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST/PROJECT ASSISTANT
HOURLY GROUP H - $21.20/hr Posting End Date:
Benefit: Standard Employee Benefit in accordance with Table H group under the Non-Administrative Meet & Confer
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Become proficient with the Finance software; review invoicing for appropriate account numbers and amounts.
Post journal entries; review for accuracy, investigate outstanding journal entries.
Review and post print shop and bus trip monthly journal entries. Prepare bus trip reports and invoices monthly.
Prepare balance sheet analysis and invoices monthly. Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
Prepare facilities usage and crossing guard invoices. Prepare invoices for open enrollment, special education, and various other invoices.
Run aging list and investigate outstanding invoices; contact customers regarding payment. Prepare quarterly motor fuel tax refund claim.
Bookkeeper for Kingston Stadium; includes Student Activity Fund Accounting.
Review District Contracts and Agreements; update spreadsheet, investigate if outstanding.
Responsible for fiscal year-end procedures and understanding GAAP rules for accruals.
Backup Cash Desk position with deposits and bank duties.
Thoroughly understand Cash Handling Procedures; train others in the District.
Update and maintain Desk Procedures manual. Adhere to Internal Controls in Accounting Department.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google, Gmail.
Ability to work with limited supervision and display critical thinking skills. Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
Other duties as assigned.
This position requires someone with critical thinking skills who is organized and detailed. They would be a decision maker, researching problems in the Accounting Department as well as other Departments. This person must possess strong communication skills both written and oral. They will communicate through email and phone calls with staff throughout the District.
Education: 2-year Accounting/Business Degree preferred; Accounts Receivable Experience. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and governmental accounting principles preferred.

Ability to effectively present information orally and respond to questions from administrators, teachers, staff and students.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Ability to use spreadsheets and reporting documents that assist with the computation of data.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve problems effectively. Ability to interpret and implement a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, colleagues, community members, staff and students. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 0 to 12 feet and occasionally up to 20 feet, such as curriculum materials, desks, chairs, and boxes. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables and carts. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus while working with computers, written materials, reports, assessment data, etc.

The noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet. The position requires the commitment of professional working hours that may require the employee to extend beyond a typical 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. workday. The employee will frequently work in different areas of the building including in/at desks, on or near the floor, standing.
