What You Will Contribute:
Badger Meter is looking for a 2nd Shift Assembler to join our team! Our facility is clean and air conditioned. We offer 3 weeks of vacation and 11 paid company holidays!
This position is responsible for overall assembly process. General duties include building, assembling, testing, injection molding and packaging a variety of meters or meter reading technology products. The work is completed through manual assembly, utilization of various specialty pieces of equipment, or automated machinery. Employees regularly rotate through various workstations within their home department and occasionally work in other areas of the facility depending on workload and customer orders.
Job Duties:
  • Perform a variety of operations such as assembly of meters, leak testing, meter testing, and packaging of meter products while following safety guidelines
  • Assemble products, following work instructions ensuring the highest quality products, meeting company product standards, production goals, and customer specifications and delivery requirements
  • Set up and operate meter accuracy and leak test equipment to determine acceptability of product
  • Operate computer to check schedules, obtain part drawings, set up work procedures and update manufacturing status of jobs
  • Work from dispatch lists or production schedules to obtain required daily output
Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience preferred
  • High School degree required
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable
  • Basic math skills
Physical Requirements:
Depending on assigned department, must be able to meet one of the following physical requirements.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform a 20 pound lift test (Dept. 450, 416, 460 and 421)
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform a 40 pound lift test (Dept. 470)
  • Must demonstrate the ability to perform a 40 pound lift to waist, 50 pound lift to chest and 50 pound carry test (Dept. 417)
