What this job involves - The Assistant Chief Engineer is responsible for protecting and improving the Client’s asset and ensuring that the facility and building systems meet or exceed their rated life, while assisting in supervising the crew, purchasing and inventory control, and contracted maintenance.

What is your day to day?

• Operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing building equipment related to the efficient operation of the building equipment and systems
• Maintain and monitor all types of building equipment, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls (electrical & pneumatic)
• Maintain good tenant relations through prompt and courteous response to tenant request within the guidelines set forth by JLL
• Perform and/or direct predictive maintenance, preventative maintenance, maintenance routines and service requests as directed
• Assist contractors and ensure contracted services are being performed safely and in accordance with established work standards and practices
• Provide training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations staff
• Direct the performance of contracted maintenance work, as needed
• Ensure the availability of an adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies
• Responsible for keeping records of buildings rounds and readings, all engineering logs and engineering data sheets

Required

• 5+ years’ experience in facility maintenance and performing quality checks on BMS
• Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding and electrical systems engineering and operation
• Knowledge of current facility code requirements and standards
• Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office products
• Ability to be in an on-call rotation

Preferred

• Exposure to a CMMS system - SAP or similar
• Accredited trade school degree or certification in HVAC, electronics, or related industry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $93,000.00 - $100,000.00 per hour

• Santa Clara, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• commercial HVAC (boilers/chillers/etc.): 4 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• EPA Universal Certification (Preferred)
