Assistant Conference Coordinator
Job description
The Neenah Conference Center (NCC) is a multi-purpose facility that serves all Neenah area units and office buildings. The center is 35,000 square feet and is designed to service the meeting and events needs of the employees, customers, vendors and high profile meetings like the Kimberly-Clark Board of Directors.
The (NCC) consists of 11 meeting rooms and 7 of which are video conference capable. The largest meeting room has a capacity to seat theater style 375 ppl. The conference center houses a café that is used for overflow meeting space and reception and dining space. The triangular Atrium area is the common area of the building that all conference rooms are accessible to. This area is used for serving a communal continental breakfast, buffet lunches and afternoon refreshments and snacks. The NCC is a full service facility consisting of 2 full time wait staff, 2 full time technology staff, and 1 full time catering/reservation staff and one Conference Services Manager. The conference center hours are 7a-5p Monday-Friday
In this role you will ensure successful delivery of all services for meetings and conferences by coordinating with clients, vendors and coworkers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handles all reservations and bookings
- Inspects and maintains appearance and functionality of conference rooms for quality assurance
- Communicates available services, policies, and fees and to the client
- Coordinates services for meetings which have been booked
- Participates in Planning Meetings, reviewing the details of events which he or she has been working on, answering questions from staff members, and discussing relevant logistical matters
- Assist with set up and breakdown of buffets
- Performs other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma /GED required, Associates degree in hospitality management, communications or other related field is preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in hospitality industry
- Proficient skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
- Ability to multi-task; managing multiple projects and work assignment
- Ability to handle last-minute changes in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of events
- Tact in working with professional peers from other departments and all subordinates
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
