The Assistant Director of Nursing supports the delivery of quality care and safe nursing practices for the well-being of residents and ensures that standards of care, quality measures and key indicators are met. This position manages the work environment to achieve a culture of safety and a healthy work environment. The Assistant Director serves as the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) Coordinator and/or Consistent Charge RN, provides ongoing leadership of the healthcare team and acts on behalf of the Director of Nursing in her/his absence.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical and operations leadership to the Long Term Care Center
  • Serves as a resource and support person in the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
  • Ensure consistent deliver of quality care to residents and promote best practices for outcomes
  • Coordinate all aspects of RAI/MDS process, completions of care plans and timely submissions of data to MDH and CMS to support quality compliance and accurate reimbursement
  • Coordinate with Director to ensure availability and operation of equipment and supplies
  • Interview, hire, train, coach, manage performances and evaluate staff members
  • Ensure adequate staffing and collaborate with direct to adjust staff plans as needed
  • Promotes, implements, and monitors continuous quality improvement processes ensuring regulatory standards are being met
  • Coordinate education and staff development opportunities with Clinical Nurse Educator
  • Provides direct resident care and education as needed
Qualifications
  • Current RN license with MN Board of Nursing
  • Current BLS Certification or ability to obtain within the first six months
  • One year of charge RN experience preferred
  • Experience with RAI process, Medicare Part A, Case Mix, federal and state regulations preferred
  • Bachelor's of Nursing Degree(if not current, ability to obtain within the first three years

Schedule:

  • 80hrs/2wks
  • Weekdays: 8:00am-4:30pm
