Overview:
The Assistant Graphic Designer collaborates with the cross functional team to develop seasonal graphic design concepts that support the achievement of financial plans and the evolution of the brand. They create innovative designs that are trend right and relevant to the customer within the parameters of the cross functional process.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Senior Designer in the creative exploration of Graphic Design for SPARC Group brands and sub brands
  • Design innovative graphics that are aligned with overall seasonal design direction
  • Develop new typographic and layout solutions
  • Partner with Design to create cohesive collections by season
  • Proactively seek out opportunities to maximize the business and elevate the product.
  • Use trend intelligence, including Social Media (tik-tok, Instagram) and an understanding of the current and historical business to design and execute specific classifications.
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross functional team members (Merchandising, Production and Design) through communication and problem solving.
  • Manage deadlines in accordance with the corporate calendar.
  • Adapt all approved layouts to various formats
  • Prepare inspiration/trend boards using creative methods
  • Prepare program “look” boards
  • Maintain project libraries; compile all reference material together with program files
  • Present ideas and designs to senior leadership team
  • Update “look” boards with Seasonal Line Assortment Presentations
  • Perform such other duties as directed by the supervisor
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years experience designing apparel graphics for knit categories (tees, fleece, polos, etc.)
  • Ability to innovate and think creatively
  • Strong sketching skills
  • Understanding of the demographics of SPARC Groups Brands
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Photoshop & Illustrator
  • Travel may be required, based on business needs.
  • Adhere to regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration. Job duties may be performed effectively using the hybrid work program designated by the company.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor as the company retains the right to change duties to this position.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular and timely attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards and Company’s policy.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to constantly operate a computer, other office equipment and look at a monitor for up to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to clearly and accurately communicate and exchange information verbally, in writing, or through other means in person, telephonically, or through virtual communication methods
  • Ability to position self to reach at or below shoulder level
  • Ability to carry equipment, moveboxes/samples, etc.

Requirements & EEO Statement: The salary range for this position is $58,500 to $70,000 annually. Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to position offered and work experience. In addition to your salary, SPARC Group, and its affiliated brands, offers a benefits package, including 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedule and a generous employee discount program (all benefits are based on eligibility).
