Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS)

Including but not limited to analysis of power systems operations and control; performing transient time domain simulations of electronic power systems in general and real-time simulation in particular; design, build, operation and control of power converters; interacting with students; writing reports and presenting research results to others (including conferences).

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar.

Must be able to work on projects restricted by U.S. export control laws.

Experience in transient time domain simulations of electronic power systems in general and real-time simulation specifically. Understanding of design, build, operation, and control of power electronic converters. Experience using any of the following specialized software: Matlab (incl. Simulink and Simscape), RTDS, OPAL-RT.
