Duties

  • Serves as a SAA representative to assigned special projects, especially those involving USCP Command Center operations and processes.
  • Monitors ongoing police activities and communications, gathers additional details, and sends notifications and informational updates to SAA senior staff.
  • Assists in the development/modification of SAA and USCP messages to House staff regarding ongoing police activities and/or security related matters.
  • Provides and maintains access to House databases for staff and Members to assist in coordinating response to incidents and identifying individuals involved.
  • Keeps SAA senior staff aware of locations and movements of House Leadership.
  • Serves as a SAA representative in the USCP Command Center during major special events on and off campus.
  • Monitors local and national news for events that may impact the Capitol Hill complex and Member district offices.
  • Monitors USCP arrests and other ongoing incidents and reports information to SAA senior staff for use in developing informational messages and/or to adjust security posture on the Hill.
  • Reviews USCP Morning Reports as needed and routes information of significance to designated SAA senior staff.
  • Serves as a backup to Immediate Office personnel for coverage of the Chief's Intelligence briefings as needed.
  • Monitors demonstration activities across the Capitol Complex, D.C. Metropolitan area and member district offices and reports concerning activity to SAA senior staff.
  • Assesses current notification and reporting protocols and make recommendations for improvement as needed.
  • Maintains and advises SAA personnel of current protocols for utilization of USCP Command Center bridge and provides accurate and timely updates to changes in these protocols.
  • Updates and maintains an organizational chart of Senior USCP officials and provides changes to SAA senior staff. Assists in maintaining USCP notification lists relating to senior SAA staff and senior House officials.
  • Coordinates SAA needs/requirements with USCP senior staff to ensure SAA needs are being met.
  • Works with the Architect of the Capitol and Senate SAA liaison to ensure uniform and accurate information is shared with all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate proximity card access to USCP Headquarters for designated SAA staff.
  • Provides USCP related information to develop the SAA Daily Tracker report.
  • Supports House Recovery Operations structure.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be able to successfully pass a criminal history records check; ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

Knowledge of policies and procedures of United States Capitol Police; knowledge of policies and procedures of the House of Representatives; knowledge of law enforcement and emergency response agencies; knowledge of Incident Command structure and/or the National Incident Management System (NIMS) preferred; excellent written and verbal communications skills including the ability to communicate professionally with all entities at all times; excellent organizational skills; strong computer skills; detail oriented; ability to interact with a wide range of people; ability to remain calm, professional, and focused during high pressure and high stress situations; ability to analyze situations, determine relevant information, and clearly and concisely communicate details to SAA, senior law enforcement officials, and senior House staff as necessary; must maintain punctuality and attendance and conform with all SAA and House policies.

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience coordinating high profile events. Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance and successfully pass a criminal history records check.
