Position Summary
The Division of Chemical Biology and Medicinal Chemistry (CBMC) (https://pharmacy.unc.edu/divisions/cbmc/) in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy (https://pharmacy.unc.edu) invites applications for a 12-month tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level. The ideal candidate will have research expertise in medicinal chemistry and chemical biology and a commitment to the field of open science and open drug discovery. Candidates with an active research focus in the identification of dark kinases driving neurodegeneration, CNS disorders, and replication of viruses of pandemic potential through the design of small molecule inhibitors and/or bifunctional degraders targeting novel E3 ligases for use in stem cells, primary neurons, and phenotypic assays are encouraged to apply. We are seeking highly collaborative candidates who have already established or possess the potential to establish an innovative, competitive and independent research program. Candidates are expected to contribute to the education and training of students in the Doctor of Pharmaceutical Sciences (PhD) graduate program, the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) professional program, and postdoctoral fellows in the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy and will operate as a full time member and provide scientific leadership within CBMC’s Structural Genomics Consortium open science research center (https://pharmacy.unc.edu/research/centers/sgc-unc/).
