Springfield College seeks applications for an Assistant Professor for Sport Management within the Department of Sport Management and Recreation. This is a full-time, nine-month, one-year appointment within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership beginning August 2023. The ideal candidate will have the ability to teach core courses within the Sport Management undergraduate program, with emphasis on experiential, and engaged teaching practices. Evidence of scholarship in the form of research and/or presentations at the local, regional, state, or national level is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have work or teaching experience in general sport management classes, including introduction, leadership, event management, or sales. Additional consideration will be given for those with experience in advising students, and for those who are familiar with COSMA curriculum review. Candidates that can expand the cultural perspectives of the program are particularly welcome.

The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Sport Management, or related discipline with evidence of teaching effectively in a wide range of college courses. Applicants who are ABD for the terminal degree may be considered. Candidates should have a commitment to work in a dynamic work setting with a diverse student population.
