Matthew Lopez Law is one of Arizona’s top rated criminal defense law firms. Our attorneys handle misdemeanor and felony cases throughout Arizona. We are accepting resumes for a full-time associate attorney. Joining our firm provides a unique opportunity for an attorney who is interested in furthering their career in criminal defense law.

The associate attorneys at our law firm are responsible for the following:

• Requesting discovery and conducting investigations;
• Interviewing police officers and witnesses;
• Filing and arguing pretrial motions;
• Handling misdemeanor and felony trials;
• Working with investigators;
• Providing guidance to assigned paralegals;
• Attend Court appearances in superior courts, justice courts, and city courts;
• Attend administrative hearings as they relate to DUI license suspensions;
• Attend disciplinary hearings for college students;
• Work with clients to better understand criminal procedure and keeping them informed of the status of their case; and
• Conduct in office and telephonic consultations;
• Work closely with administrative staff to ensure the professional and steady flow of cases.

Candidates will ideally possess the following experience:

• Past experience at a public defender’s office, county/city attorney’s office, or an Arizona criminal defense law firm.
• Handling misdemeanor and felony cases;
• Handling DUI cases, including knowledge of the motor vehicle division; and
• Conducting consultations.
• *If there is an ambitious candidate without experience, we would be willing to train.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
