Salary Range: $70,000 - $83,000
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director, the Associate Director assists in managing the degree program admission process designed to meet targeted enrollment goals and actively assists in enrolling a high-quality, diverse student body that enhances the reputation of the Columbia Business School.
Responsibilities
Evaluates and recommends applicants: duties may include reading and evaluating applications and conducting interviews. Serves a member of the Admission Committee and the Fellowship Committee.
Develops, manages, promotes and markets the MBA/EMBA programs: duties may include planning and delivering on and off-campus presentations, hosting receptions, and participating in other recruitment activities as determined by the office.
Manages admissions recruiting and operations processes for degree programs as assigned in addition to other special initiatives from the Dean’s office.
Oversees, along with Director and Associate Director of Operations, application statuses to ensure the timely release of decisions; and verifying the accuracy of applicant details (employment, salary, transcripts, and recommendations).
Manages and trains Assistant Director(s) and or student workers to assist with admissions and recruitment efforts. May also oversee alumni interviewers, auxiliary readers, or other individuals who are supporting the admissions team.
Along with the Directors, collects, analyzes, and reports admission and recruitment data and statistics. Shares data as appropriate or requested with senior management of the School.
Assists with office budget management and reconciliation.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with faculty, administrators, current students, alumni and solicit their participation in said events.
Performs other relevant duties as needed and assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and/or its equivalent degree required. A minimum of 3-5 years related experience required.
Excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and oral communication and computer skills required (proficiency with MS Office Suite).
Ability to travel (domestic and international) and work evenings and weekends required. Candidate must possess strong skills in diplomacy, tact, and discretion. The ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and multiple responsibilities is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree preferred.
