The Role: Associate Director – QINLOCK Marketing
Deciphera is seeking a seasoned, dynamic, and experienced marketer with extensive commercial oncology experience to lead marketing initiatives across healthcare provider and consumer channels to support the company’s lead asset, QINLOCK (ripretinib) the first and only broad-spectrum KIT and PDGFRA switch-control kinase inhibitor engineered to block the drivers of resistance in advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST). QINLOCK is currently approved for the treatment of adult patients with advanced GIST who have received prior treatment with 3 or more kinase inhibitors, including imatinib. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has also recently granted Breakthrough Therapy Designation (BTD) for QINLOCK for the treatment of adult patients with unresectable or metastatic GIST who received prior treatment with imatinib, and who harbor a KIT exon 11 mutation and co-occurring KIT exon 17 and/or 18 mutations (KIT exon 11+17/18 mutations), based on the ctDNA results from the Phase 3 INTRIGUE study. Reporting to the QINLOCK Brand Lead, this position will help with the development and implementation of the QINLOCK brand strategy, lead the development of personal and non-personal tactics and collaborate with functional and cross-functional partners to realize brand objectives and goals. This is a critical commercial role that will be instrumental to the continued commercialization success of QINLOCK in the US GIST marketplace.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the development and implementation of the QINLOCK promotional plan for HCP audiences across, personal, non-personal promotion/digital, and peer-to-peer channels, and the consumer plan ensuring alignment with brand strategy
- Be a brand champion – assist in motivating and exciting the commercial functional team (Sales, Market Access, Training, Operations, Market Research and Analytics) and the company to help drive success of the QINLOCK across approved indications
- Play a key role in the annual brand/tactical planning process by shaping the strategic plan, and own the tactical plan and budget required to achieve the brands objectives
- Plan and oversee the development of advertising and promotional materials and activities including print, online, and other personal and non-personal promotional efforts in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Develop collaborative working relationships and serve as the day-to-day point of contact with external agency partners and internal cross-functional partners
- Ensure legal/regulatory compliance and medical accuracy of all promotional initiatives, tactics and marketing materials
- Assist in planning and execution for QINLOCK label updates and potential future indications
- Work closely with the cross functional team to roll out of marketing campaigns/messages, and guidance to the field team through plan of action meetings (POA)
- Partner with Brand Insights to identify market research and insight needs for QINLOCK to develop appropriate studies, and analyze customer insights, monitor brand performance and competitive dynamics to inform/adjust marketing/brand strategy and address customer needs
- Partner with Analytics and internal stakeholders to define success metrics and implement appropriate KPIs to monitor and measure the success of personal and non-personal promotion tactics and recommend modifications / adjustments as appropriate to ensure highest ROIs
- Closely manage marketing budgets to ensure expenditures are aligned with the brand plan
What You’ll Bring:
- Proactive, results oriented, self-starter motivated by the desire to do the right thing for the patients and their caregivers
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related and/or life sciences field required. An MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 4+ years of prior in-line HCP Marketing and related experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry with experience in one or more of the following: brand marketing, sales, managed markets, pricing or market research/analytics, strategic planning
- Oncology experience is a must. Launch and knowledge of oral oncolytics is preferred
- Extensive knowledge of medical, regulatory, legal review process
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, constantly evolving start-up environment
