Job description
The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced professional to join our team and provide business and accounting services to our association. This is a role that will require excellent communication skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines.
Duties:
- Coordinates the Association budget, quarterly financial forecasts, and monthly reporting of operating results,
- Sets appropriate deadlines, working closely with branch leadership, and reviewing inputs as they are received.
- Ensures the feeds from the YMCAs payroll and revenue systems are complete and accurate.
- Prepares the monthly reporting package for YMCA Board Committees.
- Leads in developing procedures and providing coaching and training to branch and administrative staff related to budget and monthly reporting.
- Serves as a financial counselor to branches and staff, at all levels, regarding accounting, internal controls, financial review/analysis and budgeting.
- Working with the Accounting team, coordinates the adjustments from the operating results to the year-end annual report and 990 tax filing and prepares appropriate year-end schedules
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or its equivalency is required. A CPA or MBA is preferred. A minimum of four years of related experience in finance/accounting and financial reporting is required.
Intermediate-level computer skills in Excel are required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with the YMCAs financial reporting system SGA and/or other budget-related software programs is preferred. Fund accounting (not-for-profit) or public accounting experience is preferred.
