Summary

The Department of Molecular & Integrative Physiology in conjunction with the Institute for Heart and Brain Health at the University of Michigan is accepting applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. We seek outstanding colleagues whose research addresses cutting-edge questions in any area of physiology to join an inclusive and very supportive department community that prioritizes transformative science along with training the next generation of scientific leaders.

Successful candidates will be part of an interactive and interdisciplinary environment in one of the top physiology departments in the world and will work side by side with researchers uncovering fundamental basic biology and mechanisms of human disease using a wide range of molecular, cellular, and organismal systems. We are particularly interested in candidates working on mechanisms of cardiac (and/or brain) regeneration using models systems to decipher the contributions of ploidy, fibrosis, and inflammation to regulate regenerative capacity in adults.

Responsibilities*

Candidates are expected to develop an internationally-recognized program of scholarly research, to excel in teaching and mentoring at the graduate level, and to demonstrate commitment to service in the department and scientific community.
