Job Summary
The Athletic Equipment Manager serves as the primary equipment manager for the Division I men’s hockey programs. The equipment manager determines the need for the purchase, repair and inventory of equipment and supplies and communicates with athletic finance staff to facilitate the initiation and processing of required transactions. The equipment manager will disburse, maintain, and repair all equipment and supplies in addition to determining the proper selection, fit, care, maintenance, and laundering for equipment and uniforms.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in the handling of equipment for the sport of ice hockey
- Demonstrated experience in skate sharpening
- Athletic Equipment Manager Certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to initiate, develop and maintain appropriate contacts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
