Job Title: Baker

Reports to: Pastry Chef

JOB PURPOSE

Our new café/bakery opening in Sadsburyville, Pa is looking for a creative baker to assist the Pastry Chef. This position would best be suited for someone who is enthusiastic about sweets. There is potential for cross over into the culinary world should you so desire to hone in on your skills. A candidate that is interested in both baking and line cook duties as well, is very appealing.

SCOPE

The Baker is responsible for assisting the Pastry Chef in scaling, production, and food handling. Along with the above listed things, garnishing and boxing finished items is also expected.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Baker is responsible for scaling, mixing, baking, and preparing items. Muffins, Croissants, Cakes, Pies, Cookies, Breads, and other assorted pastries will be made daily, from scratch, for both our café/bakery as well as any customer orders that are placed with our company. Being able to work cleanly, quickly, and productively is a MUST. . Knowledge of Allergens, Gluten free items is expected. Other duties may also be assigned by management or ownership.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge

• High school diploma
• 1-year of Professional baking experience preferred but not required

Skills

• Basic mathematics
• Using a scale
• Can follow recipes

Physical Requirements

• Lift 25 pounds or more
• Able to walk up and down stairs
• Able to stand for long periods of time

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

Our company is prepared to pay competitive wages for the right person. We expect that wages would be comparable to our local market’s pay scale for jobs of similar workload, and experience levels.

The Baker must have flexibility to work full time hours, and overtime, if necessary, to fulfill the baking demands and orders that are needed at the café, and to assist and work around the Pastry Chef’s desired schedule for the position.

Additionally, skills as a line cook would be desired and may add to pay scale if beneficial to the company.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $9.90 - $19.12 per hour
