Our client a leading law firm is seeking to hire an experienced banking and finance solicitor to join its practice as a ‘Professional Support Lawyer’. The role is ideal for someone looking to move away from the demands of a client facing role but still maintain a career within private practice.
Key Responsibilities
Training
- Design, manage and assist in delivery of Group education and training programmes, including:
- Group wide education;
- NQ / PQE / solicitors and associates training and development programme;
- T rainee induction, ensuring that all Group training is aligned with the firm’s overall L&D strategy.
- Support firmwide trainee and NQ training programmes, and other firmwide training as requested, including assisting with the design, content and / or delivery of courses.
- Assist in implementation of the L&D strategy, using workshops and other initiatives in Group to embed skills acquired in firmwide training into work practices within the Group.
Knowledge and Knowledge Management
- Create, maintain, update, and manage know how, model documents, templates and practice notes on a Group specific and firmwide basis, working collaboratively within the PSL Faculty and the Head of Knowledge Management to share knowledge, and ensure consistency of format and excellence across the firm.
- Monitor and research current and future (horizon scanning) legal, regulatory policy and market developments and trends. Assist in the dissemination of updates, analysis and insights on the implications for our practice and our clients, for the Group, the PSL Faculty, the.firm and its clients, as appropriate.
- Advise on technical queries from the Group, support and guide research, tracking queries to identify knowledge gaps and training needs.
- As a member of the PSL Faculty working with the Head of Knowledge Management contribute to the effective design, implementation and management of the firm ’ s KM function including production of firm wide know how, and the development of the KM system.
- Support the Head of Knowledge Management and the Knowledge Management Team participating as requested in the development and implementation of an innovative firmwide Knowledge Management strategy and policy.
- Assist in promoting a knowledge sharing culture in Group, within the PSL Faculty and across the firm.
Business Development and Thought Leadership
- In conjunction with partners, PSLs, the Head of Knowledge Management and / or others as appropriate, co-ordinate production of client facing events, updates, articles, including thought leadership pieces, horizon scanning reports and other publications.
- Assist with the design, content and / or delivery of bespoke client seminars, webinars and training programmes with an emphasis on thought leadership and business development..
- Assist in the design and delivery of innovative value-add services to clients, using our business and legal knowledge to showcase the expertise of the PSL Faculty, including supporting the production of bespoke know how services in line with strategic and key client programs.
- Contribute to thought leadership campaigns, which may include writing submissions on policy to government and regulatory bodies, drafting responses to consultations and supporting or participating in industry working groups.
Key Requirements
- Experienced banking and finance solicitor with min 7+ Years’ PQE coming from a leading Irish or UK law firm. Experience in any or all of the following areas: general banking, aviation / asset finance, structured finance and debt capital markets
