Overview
The Benefits Manager will serve as the lead in providing clients and employees with support to all areas of the benefit programs afforded through Ethan Allen HR Services, a NYS Certified PEO. This role will involve working with business leaders from small to mid-size companies and their employee pools when necessary to ensure all benefit needs and expectations are satisfied in a timely fashion. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with executive leadership to ensure proper benefit support is provided and that existing procedures and processes are effectively maintained and enhanced, if possible. This role is focused strictly on benefits and is a role in which the successful candidate will fully own the benefit function within the Human Resources Team; a team comprised of approximately 15-20 individuals.

Benefits Manager Qualifications
- 5 years’ benefit experience
- Understanding of employee Health, Dental, Vision Insurance etc. plans, Cobra, and FMLA/DBL
- Carrier Processing of enrollments, changes, terms, etc.
- Strong Computer skills, including systems such as benefit enrollment systems – a plus would be if you have setup or managed benefit portals for employees
- Some basic accounting skills of setting up employee deductions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional attention to detail with strong communication acumen; written and verbal.
- Willingness to work onsite Monday thru Friday in Poughkeepsie

Benefits Manager Responsibilities
- Daily processing of benefits including enrollments, terms, changes with carriers and through internal company benefit portal.
- Cobra processing
- Assisting employees with the enrollment process and resolving benefit issues
- Advising on details of their benefit plans
- Answering specific benefit questions
- Assisting with enrollment and changes thru the online benefit portal
- FMLA & Disability processing
- Setting up payroll deductions for employees in payroll system
- Setting up benefit portal for new client relationships and open enrollment
- Communicating with insurance carriers
- Conducting Presentations to educate employees
