- Expected Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.51 / hour
- Shift & Schedule Availability: Part Time
- Level: Advance
- Provide high-level technical and tactical mountain bike instruction to seasonal groups.
- Have a broad, accurate and current knowledge of your sport.
- Possess a high level of self-safety and safety of others.
- Create a safe, fun environment that is conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies and progressions.
- Encourage student enthusiasm for riding, the learning process, etiquette and the further development of good riding skills.
- Uphold the highest level of guest and personal safety on varied terrain in all weather conditions.
- Follow the Resort’s etiquette guidelines while interacting with guests and respond to all guests in a courteous, professional manner. Maintain positive relations with students, parents, visitors, and general public at all times.
- Attend all required training, safety and other meetings, required by the department and the company.
- Continuing education and development of coach pedagogy is ongoing.
- Demonstrate a commitment to improving personal riding and teaching abilities through attendance of supplementary training.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Previous competition and/or coaching experience.
- Must be able to complete required training upon hire.
- Must be able to handle exposure to inclement weather; bending, lifting and squatting.
- Physical ability to respond appropriately to emergency and other unplanned situations.
- Prior experience working with children and youth, preferably in sport and in excess of 500 hrs min.
- Prior experience competing in the sport you are going to coach.
- Knowledge of venue safety.
- Vast knowledge of progressions and drills for appropriate athlete development.
- Must have terrific customer service skills.
- Must have great communication skills.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Must have a great, positive attitude and patience.
