Optimum Academy is seeking a qualified Bilingual Safety & Rescue Instructor. Our Instructors require a solid commitment to safety, a unique skill set, and dedication to making the student experience their highest priority.

Most training takes place at the Optimum Facility in Amarillo, TX. However, there may be the opportunity for some travel (around 20%) to conduct training courses at customer sites. In addition to training, a qualified instructor will contribute to Optimum's quality management system, program development, other non-training process improvements, and field services as needed.

Your skills may include a background in wind energy, tower climbing, rope access, or in an emergency response profession. These occupations are great transitions into becoming a leader as an instructor.

Responsibilities
· Deliver training courses using a pre-determined syllabus for the assigned course, considering the requirements of all relevant legislation and the company's quality management system.
· Lead the students throughout theoretical and practical training sessions.
· Compile individual student assessments after completing theoretical and practical training.
· Collaborate with fellow instructors to ensure consistent delivery and commitment to learning and mentoring with a strong team spirit and work ethic.
· Responsible for developing and maintaining positive working relationships with clients.
· Occasional travel to non-training events, such as trade shows or client safety days, may be required.

Qualification
· Comfortable working at heights up to 150m.
· Able to instruct in both Spanish and English.
· Able to stand for extended periods and present course materials (both theoretical and practical) in front of a class of students, typically no more than 8 students at a time.
· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
· Valid US driver's license required; valid US passport preferred.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other software.
· Familiarity with the principles, standards, regulations, equipment, and best practices related to working at height.
· Ability to understand and clearly communicate technical information to a diverse audience.
· Experience in the wind energy or telecommunications industries preferred.
· Previous certification as a Work at Height or GWO Instructor preferred.
· Previous certification or experience in teaching, emergency response, military, confined space, climbing or mountaineering, or other challenging or hazardous work environments preferred.
