Job Description

This position coordinates and facilitates insurance billing and collection activities for multiple insurances. Work as a member of a team to ensure reimbursement for physician and ancillary services in an accurate and timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities

For assigned accounts, will be asked to reconcile account balances, pursue account balances and/or denials by working with payer remits, online tools, payer customer service, and spreadsheets to ensure accurate reimbursement.

Submit Appeals and medical reviews as needed.

Research payments, denials, and/or accounts to determine under and over payments.

Process refunds to various Insurance payers through internal Cigna accounts payable software.

Coordinate with team members and other office staff members to ensure correct claims processing.

Identify trends in payment and denial issues and communicate with the team and work with internal and external partners to educate and correct the issues.

Make outbound calls, as required to resolve billing, payment and account issues.

Work as a member of a team to achieve account receivables goals.

Work hand in hand with insurance carriers to ensure payment collection and payment collection reporting, accurate process flows and communications.

Report of activity to client for both receivable balances.

Respond to insurance correspondence and requests for data.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent

Strong knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.

Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Preferred: Medicare and Medicaid billing and collections experience, along with a knowledge of the Medicare and Medicaid physician services coverage policies.

Preferred: Background in using EPIC practice management system.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of 17 - 26 USD / hourly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
