Biohazard Technician-Part-time (3449-56)
Location: Cincinnati, Ohio
Work Hours:
Part-time/ 25 hrs per week, Sun thru Sat, various
Starting Salary:
$17.00 per hour

Requirements:
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residency
- proof of insurance

Hazards: Exposure to vehicular traffic, noise, and exhaust fumes; drives in all weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work experience with filter-based air samples.
- Three (3) years driving experience.
- Prior work experience which included driving as part of duties.
- Clean driving record.
Job Duties (Summary):
- Utilizes County vehicle to deliver filter-based biohazard samples to a specified laboratory for analysis; operates the samplers according to manufacturer’s instructions; prepares supplies for sample collection; and reviews, conduct inventory, and prepares lists of required supplies on a quarterly basis.
- Performs routine maintenance on samplers per instrument manufacturer’s instructions; repairs samplers as needed; performs quarterly flow audits; maintain sampler logbooks and inventory lists; compile and submit information for quarterly reporting to program management.
- Secures, maintains and upgrades collection sites as required, including but not limited to: assessing work requirements, securing quotes for work, advising management and insuring work is completed in a satisfactory manner for payment through contract or internal efforts.
- Performs sample collection at biological and radiological monitors as required.
- Installs and repairs ancillary equipment related to the program (i.e. meteorological equipment, data acquisition equipment, and review data collected to ensure proper operation of equipment; ensure equipment is functioning and calibrated on a regular schedule.)
- Assists co-workers as needed; performs other related duties as assigned.
