Inova Fairfax Medical Center Research Administration department has an opening for a Full-time opening for a Research Business Analyst to join the team.

The Research Business Analyst will support Inova’s researchers in advancing medicine through clinical trials. The candidate will partner with Inova’s researchers to create Medicare Coverage Analysis, develop internal budgets, and negotiate budgets with study sponsors, e nsure compliance with applicable federal regulations and Inova policies when creating Medicare Coverage Analyses and will review claims involving research patients, ensuring proper billing compliance regulations are followed to ensure Inova meets all requirements of CMS.

Job Responsibilities

• The individual will be responsible for developing Coverage Analysis and billing grids for clinical trials.
• Developing and negotiating sponsor budgets for clinical trials and training different disease areas on the importance of coverage analysis based on federal/state billing regulations including Medicare’s National
• Coverage Decision (NCD) 310.1 as well as other third-party billing rules.
  The individual will work closely with Principal Investigators, service line staff, research application, contract, finance, IRB, revenue cycle, Epic teams and should have an understanding of the regulations around research billing compliance.

Requirements for consideration:

Experience :

The idea candidate will have experience in clinical research and have familiarity with the following:

• Medicare Coverage Analysis
• Budget negotiations
• Claims review
• CMS billing guidelines and regulations

Education:

• Bachelor of Science or an additional 8 years of relevant experience in health-related discipline (nursing, biology, pharmacology). Masters in business/ Health administration, public health or related field.
