High Level Position Description:

The Business Analyst Lead is a supervisor and project delivery leader, with subject matter expertise in an area we call Portfolio Management at Clayton. Roles that fall under this Lead role include Functional Analysts, Business Analysts, and Systems Analysts. It is not expected that a Business Analyst Lead is an expert in all those skill areas but will need to have extensive expertise in at least Business Analysis. The Business Analyst Lead role will first and foremost be a people leader, driving best practices and team member growth of their teams. The Business Analyst Lead will also serve as a liaison between multiple business units and technology teams with the goal of implementing new functionality for the Corporate Services portfolio.

About The Team:

The Corporate Services technology team supports a variety of different business units. Our portfolio is made up of three distinct scrum teams: Financials & Compliance, Human Capital Management (HCM), and Enterprise Content Management (ECM). The Financials & Compliance team works with business teams such as Accounting, Treasury, Internal Audit, Facilities, and more. The HCM team works with business teams such as Payroll, HRIS, Benefits, Learning & Development, and more. The ECM team works across the enterprise to support and implement software used across multiple business units with their primary focus being digital document imaging. In this role, you will work closely with all three of these technology teams and their business stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership for your team and actively mentor team members on the development of their skills.
  • Partner effectively with business stakeholders and subject matter experts in a collaborative manner, building constructive and effective relationships.
  • Partner with the business and technology delivery teams to ensure best practices and techniques are understood, documented, and fit the needs of the organization.
  • Partner with business stakeholders in the development of business cases and project vision documentation or supporting the creation of those documents as appropriate.
  • Drive solutions from the ground up for complex, multi-phase projects while inspiring and engaging teams through collaboration.
  • Develop and enforce project delivery standards and establish the organization's approach to the full life cycle of projects, from planning, initiation, budgeting, resourcing, execution, monitoring, control, and completion.
  • Review business and project processes and make recommendations/implement changes to improve and support our activities.
  • Develop and maintain project plans to facilitate progress reports and ensure deliverables are met.
  • Develop and maintain project risk/issue logs and ensure team addresses outstanding items to ensure timely delivery.

  • Proven ability to lead multiple, large-scale initiatives through both peer leadership and directly managing the team members assigned to the project.
  • The ability to break down technical complexities so that they can be easily understood by business partners and end users.
  • Experience in project management, process mapping, group facilitation, data gathering and analysis, and phases of project life cycle (requirements gathering, design, development, deployment, training, and measuring effectiveness.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Including Intermediate in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using Agile methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical and business experience.
  • Five or more years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, or Product Owner.

Desired Skills:

  • One to three years of experience as a people manager.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: OnBase by Hyland electronic imaging and document management, Oracle ERP financial systems such as Accounts
  • Payable/Receivables/General Ledger, and Workday HCM systems is highly desired but not required.
  • Proven ability to introduce new technology features and functionality to user groups.
  • May be responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing a change management strategy and plan which includes stakeholder management, communications, training, and monitors overall organizational readiness.
  • Basic to Intermediate SQL query skills desired, but not required.
  • Background working with Product teams and Software Engineering teams is a plus.
  • Domain knowledge of multiple Clayton business units.
