? This position reports directly to the Associate Director.
Position Summary
Revolution Workshop is looking for a “go-getter” with strong relationship skills, a passion for creating a more equitable construction industry, and dependable follow-through. Previous experience working within the construction industry is a big plus. The Business Services Manager manages relationships with construction contractors and trades unions to ensure that our clients are attaining (and retaining) high-quality employment. This position will be held by an organized individual who has strong initiative as Revolution Workshop is a fast-growing organization. This position is full-time, in person, and year-round at both our East Garfield Park and Pullman training facilities
Requirements:? Manage RW’s relationships with construction companies and trades union partners
? Identify and create job leads from Revolution Workshop’s employer partners for RW’s clients
? Assist in development and fundraising from RW’s employer partners
? Assist with advocacy work to push for a more equitable construction industry
? Manage coordination of job site tours and employer volunteer opportunities
Grow Revolution Workshop’s employer partner base
? Promote Revolution Workshop’s construction training program to construction companies by email, telephone, informational, networking events, and in-person visits
? Lead tours and presentations about RW for new employer partners
? Maintain accurate records in the Revolution Workshop employer database
Leverage employer feedback to strengthen RW’s programming
? Manage Revolution Workshop’s Employer Advisory Council - a council of industry partners that informs our organization
? Create surveys for company partners to identify trends
? Lead check-ins with companies who have hired our grads
Work as a team member
? Supervise Revolution Workshop’s two Employment Specialists across our two locations to ensure we are appropriately coaching clients along their career paths
? Work with RW team on the planning and development of Revolution Workshop programs
? Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Required
? 1-3 years of management experience
? Needs the ability to shift between one-on-one customer service and high-level organizational strategy
? Deep understanding of barriers to employment for people of color, women, and low-income individuals
? Takes initiative, recognize and respond to emerging priorities, allow for flexibility in your schedule
? Excellent writing skills and interpersonal communication
? Excellent computer skills – Google G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, Gmail etc.), Microsoft
Office, Excel, ability to learn new systems and databases
? Must be able to create and manage a spreadsheet with formulas
Preferred
? Knowledge of construction industry (strongly preferred)
? 1- 3 years of Sales experience
? Experience with survey design or other feedback collection methods
? Bachelor’s degree or technical skills education
? Experience in workforce development or working with individuals to gain employment
