Alliance Labor Group is assisting an Architectural Millwork firm in hiring an Experienced Buyer to work at their Chicago facility. The ideal candidate will work hand-in-hand with the Sales Team and the Warehouse Managers to be a part of the purchasing process and the logistics of all incoming purchased orders and inventory Management. The candidate will need to have exceptional communication and team work skills as they will be working directly with manufacturing department Managers, Engineering, Sales and Customer Service staff.

Responsibilities for the Buyer include but are not limited to:

• Execute purchasing directives including, sourcing, purchase order entry and vendor monitoring
• Teamwork is essential to ensure all purchasing requirements and initiatives are met
• Maintain records of products ordered, received and sold
• Source and communicate with vendors, suppliers on pricing, availability and terms of sale
• Analyze and report on product data to determine areas of opportunity and level of demand
• Communicate with logistics companies and coordinate inbound shipments
• Collect product requisitions from Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing teams, prepare purchase orders to vendors
• Update in-house software on delivery dates, pricing, etc.
• Assist with inventory management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in a related business area
• Buyer experience is a plus
• Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
• Experience in negotiating and or Networking
• Strong work ethic and reliability will be key
• Strong organizational and attention to details

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
