Moffatt & Nichol is actively searching for a CAD Technician to join our Honolulu, Hawaii office. The successful new hire will produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D for use in planning, permitting and construction of civil/structural infrastructure projects.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Transform initial rough designs and ‘mark-ups’ into finished working documents
  • Draft detailed drawings of structures and installations such as cargo terminals, breakwaters, marinas, wharfs, bulkhead walls, shoreline construction (beaches, revetments, dikes and jetties) and buildings
  • Review engineering drawings to ensure adherence to established standards
  • Assist designers and senior technicians with preparation and review of engineering drawing packages

Qualifications:


  • Associate of Science (AS) degree in Architectural or Engineering Technologies, Computer Aided Design, or equivalent degree
  • 2 - 8 years of civil engineering or architectural drafting experience, emphasis in structural engineering
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card, if not already credentialed
  • Technical drafting proficiency – strong understanding and ability to apply CAD standards
  • Proficiency with U.S. National CAD Standard required
  • Proficiency with A/E/C CAD Standard, U.S. Navy CAD standard, and Hawaii Department of Transportation CAD standard desirable
  • Organizational skills to work effectively and meet deadlines with frequent interruption
  • Technical Skills which include:
    • AutoCAD (required)
    • Civil 3D (required)]
    • MicroStation (desired)
    • Revit (a strong plus)


Base salary range:


$36.90 to 45.10 based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.


Physical requirements:


Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
